HOW IT WORKS
Stage 1: Preliminary Round (Free – Online)
All registered students in Lagos begin with the Preliminary Round, conducted fully online.
Eligibility:
- Students in secondary school
Registration:
- Minimum of 10 students
- Maximum of 100 students
Date & Time:
- Fri 22 May, 2026.
- Time: 9am
Format:
- Students listen to audio and type
- No Study-Word
- Auto-marked (instant scoring)
- Time-bound (30–40 minutes)
Practice:
- Students should click TESTÂ to practiceÂ
Access:
- Unique login linkÂ
- To be taken from school only.
System Reliability:
- Phone, tablet or computer are usage
- Auto-save enabled
- Resume if connection drops
- One attempt per candidate
Outcome:
- Top performers qualify for the Quarterfinal Round

Stage 2: Quarterfinal Round (Paid)
This is the first elimination + commitment stage.
Eligibility:
- Only students who passed Preliminary
- Payment (N6,000) required to unlock access
- School takes 10% discount
- The FEE is non-refundable

This stage identifies the best candidates in Lagos. It comes with advanced spelling challenges for top performers. Increased difficulty and stricter grading.

- Time: 9am
Outcome:
- Finalists selected for Lagos Grand Finale
Stage 4: Lagos Grand Finale (Physical Event – Branded Tee Required)
Top finalists compete live on stage in Lagos.
Date & Time:
- Saturday 20 June, 2026.
- Time: 9am
Participation Requirement:
- All finalists must wear the official Spelling Rumble branded tee shirt
- Spelling Rumble Logo will be provided for those who want to print themselves.
- Our branded tee will be available for purchase if schools cannot brand themselves.
